The biggest bonus is not always the best fit.

Estimate what stays in your pocket before tax. Use your own assumptions rather than treating a headline reward as profit.

Estimated value before tax$400.00

$400.00 bonus − $0.00 fees − $0.00 forgone interest

Changing the waiver can change the winner. Compare the same assumptions across offers.

Assumptions and calculation

Net value = cash bonus − monthly fee × charged months − estimated forgone interest. Forgone interest = tied-up balance × ((1 + alternative APY / 100)^(days / 365) − 1). This assumes the tied-up balance earns no interest; use 0% to exclude opportunity cost. A direct-deposit threshold is not automatically a required held balance. Enter only the balance you actually cannot use elsewhere.

Fee waivers are an assumption, not a qualification check. Excludes taxes, incidental fees, interest earned in the new account, approval risk, and your time. Inputs stay in this page; only clicking Copy writes the scenario to your clipboard. This is a scenario estimate, not APY or a guaranteed return.

Compare two scenarios fairly

Run one offer, copy the result, then change the inputs for the other. Keep the alternative savings APY consistent. Use each offer’s actual holding rule, not its direct-deposit threshold.
